How we research card terms, and how often we check them.

Where the facts come from

Every card term on this site — expiry, fees, reload rules, redemption locations, lost-card policy — is taken from the retailer's own published gift card pages and terms and conditions. Each guide lists those sources at the foot of the page. We do not copy card terms from other guide sites, and we do not infer a term that a retailer has not published.

When a retailer publishes nothing

Some retailers do not publish full gift card terms. Where that is the case we say so on the page rather than filling the gap with a plausible guess. A missing term is better than a wrong one.

How often we review

Card terms change. Every guide carries a “last updated” date, and we re-check each page's terms against the retailer's current published policy at least twice a year, and sooner when a reader tells us something has changed.

Corrections

If a term here is wrong or out of date, tell us. We correct the page and move the updated date. We do not quietly edit pages without changing the date.

This site may earn affiliate commission from links to gift card exchange services. Those links are marked, are never inside a balance-check instruction, and do not affect which retailers we cover or what we say about their terms. We are never paid by a retailer to cover them.
